N ot even the godly are perfect. It is too much to expect a human to be so. All of us have different strengths and weaknesses of different kinds, to different degrees that cause us to do good or bad things in our journey through life and lifetimes. Our good deeds bring us good result - peace and joy while bad ones bring sorrow and misery for all things have consequences. A lie can please one for moments but sustainable peace is found only in truth and how can there be happiness without peace? Human love can cause us brief suffering at times yet hate produces much misery when it returns for whatever we put into the world and universe around us comes back to us, good or bad, in due course, when it is time for harvest, the fruit or the thorns. When blinded by pride, desire or ignorance we do poor things that produce bad results later, they make our journey through life difficult. There are those who say they love God but how can one know if they do? There are those who say they do not believe in God, but in fact they do; how can one know if it is so? God is the entire universe and whatever else there is beyond and within it that can not be perceived by the senses. Everything is a part of God. There is nothing else besides Him. Everything is His creation and all the life within it his children. There is nothing but God or as the Arabs say - La Illaha il Allha If one seems to love gods, angels and saints too, it is because they are the means through which a godly soul may communicate with the infinite Lord besides directly from within the heart, for the Infinite Lord does not communicate with words, His language is silence. They buzz around, day after day, millions of bees, from flower to flowers, day after day, going to rest at night in their hives. Buzzing, buzzing, a thousand flowers a bee may visit but at the end of the day, the final story is between a bee and its queen They buzz around, day after day, billions of humans, between dung heaps and gardens, weeping, laughing, a thousand other humans may a human visit but at the end of the day, the final story is between human and God. There are many persons in the modern world who influenced by modern science say they do not believe in God but lead a good moral life nevertheless and that is enough. They say who has seen God? Most scientists however, including this author do believe in God. Those who say they have never seen God fool themselves because they see parts of God all the time. God is the entire universe and beyond. They do see that all the time. What they do not see is some imaginary conception of God in their mind and it is just as well that they do not see or believe in such imaginary creation of their minds. Some say we do not see any miracles and that God should be able to perform those if he is Almighty. But God performs a miracle every instant of creation, in holding the planets together and in every breath we take that gives us life. 16 M any persons in the modern world do not believe in God because they say physical scientific evidence has not been found that can prove His existence. But evidence is all around you. Some evidence lies within each one of us. We know that we can feel love or hatred, joy or sorrow etc. Nothing that scientists and engineers have constructed so far possesses any such feelings. Moreover, we all believe that we possess free will i.e. the ability to make choices every moment of our lives (albeit within constraints). Machines cannot possess such freedom of choice. All actions of machines are based on their design, programming and inputs. Machines do not even possess a consciousness. They neither exhibit fear nor make any attempt to protect if you destroy them. It is unfortunate that some persons regard some religion or the concerned preacher in consideration as an authority on God and reject God because of that. Such persons make another error when they refer to God, as this god or that god because there is Just one God. If one prefers, one need not follow any religion at all but believe in God nevertheless i.e. become an independent theist. 3 Both my father and mother are no more. When I was young, my mother was the world to me. She was a gentle and loving mother as good as any and if any mother has something of the divine in her, something of the mother Goddess, she had it. As I grew older, I continued to love her and be loved by her until she breathed her last some twenty years ago. Something else happened, as I grew older. I learnt that there is another mother, a more permanent one that was the mother of my mother as well and the mother of everyone else too. She is Mother Earth because all of us are born from her womb. Every part of our body is made from some part of her flesh and blood. And, this more eternal mother is incredibly beautiful too.
